Our mission is to promote pastel painting, and other forms of dry media, including art created in charcoal, graphite and colouring pencils. The society was formed in 1988 by Sam Mateer as chairman, so artists sharing a passion for dry media could meet, and exhibit together. Exciting New Workshop to be tutored by acclaimed pastelist - Mark Ivan Cole

We just can’t miss this exciting opportunity to further our pasteling prowess with a weekend workshop, tutored by Mark Ivan Cole, visiting pastel artist from America.

The workshop is themed - “Painting the Emotional Landscape” - identifying the emotions which draw us to a landscape; selecting the key elements that embody that emotion; creating a suitable composition; exploring techniques that will communicate those emotions to the viewer - and , thus, also to you!
Please book early as spaces are limited. Full members and associate members and non-members will be eligible to book their places.
