Leitrim based artist Colleen Quinn is a native of Chicago, Illinois, USA.

Her passion for art began at a young age, was nurtured and encouraged throughout her career and has become the primary focus of her life.

She received her formal training from the University of Illinois, USA and received her Bachelors of Fine Art Degree studying life drawing, painting, sculpture and Graphic Design.

As a realistic painter using pastel she expresses, “As an artist, sometimes we paint a part of our soul. It is such a powerful means of communication.” For Colleen it has healed, formed relationships and made emotional connections. Her paintings are about energy, emotion and movement. They have manyinspirations. Every emotion goes into her paintings of love, joy and sadness. Her artwork is appreciated for both her technical skill at capturing the likeness of her subjects as well as the sensitive andinsightful portrayal of their characters and personalities.

Her work has been exhibited for over 25 years with many solo and group exhibitions in galleries and public institutions. Her paintings hang in private collections in Ireland, UK, Europe and the U.S.A.

Her many commissioned works of art include portraits, nature, and animals. With 25 years of teach-

ing experience in schools and privately her love of art is shared with young and old.
